But as you probably know, there\u2019s \u201cmainland France\u201d in Europe and \u201coverseas France,\u201d 13 French-administered territories\u00a0in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans and even in South America.<\/p>\n

So, are you allowed you settle in Tahiti? French Guyana? Corsica? Paris?<\/p>\n

It all depends on your citizenship!<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re from Argentina, South Korea or Japan<\/h4>\n

You can only live and work in French \u201cd\u00e9partments\u201d in Europe, i.e. mainland France (including Corsica).<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re from New Zealand, Brazil, Hong Kong, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador or Peru<\/h4>\n

You can live and work in all the French \u201cd\u00e9partments\u201d\u2014mainland France (including Corsica), Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Reunion, Mayotte and Martinique.<\/p>\n

Overseas collectivities (\u201ccollectivit\u00e9s d\u2019outre-mer\u201d) are excluded, i.e. Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Wallis and Futuna, Mayotte, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth\u00e9l\u00e9my.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re from Australia<\/h4>\n

You can live and work in the entire territory of the French Republic\u2014mainland France (including Corsica), Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Reunion, Martinique, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Wallis and Futuna, Mayotte, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth\u00e9l\u00e9my.<\/p>\n
