How to secure a room on Tendoors

Step 1: Check out the offerings on their website

Start by choosing your city on tendoors.fr. They operate in Paris, Lille, and Bordeaux. You can then browse all the rooms available, along with their detailed info.

If you want, you can also request a phone call with a Tendoors adviser who can answer your questions and help you find a room that meets your needs.

Step 2: Visit the home

You can visit the home virtually or in person:

  • Virtual 3D visit: a practical option if you aren’t in France yet.
  • In-person visit: you can see your future home but also meet the flatmates.

Step 3: Submit your application online

Once you’ve made your choice, click “Réserver” on the listing. Then simply follow the instructions from there.

The documents required include:

  • Photo ID
  • Work contract or proof of university enrollment*
  • Last 3 pay stubs*
  • Last tax return in France*
  • Proof of current address in France*

The same documents are required of your guarantor**.

*If you are a foreigner and are not able to provide these documents, you can still apply with Tendoors.
**If you don’t have a guarantor in France, try a guarantor service like GarantMe and Smargarant. They have experience with newly arrived expats in France.

Step 4: Sign the lease and move in

Once your application is approved, you will receive an individual lease that can be signed online.

If you prefer to chat, the Tendoors team is available to advise and help you along every step of the way. They can be reached on their website or via their phone number.
