IMPORTANT UPDATE: Eligibility no longer has to be pre-approved as of April 13, 2022. Instead, Air Transat will randomly select passengers and contact them by email for proof of eligibility when necessary. The extra luggage allowance will automatically be added to your booking once you have purchased your plane ticket. When you book your ticket, you won’t see the extra luggage allowance. You will receive a transaction receipt by email when the extra luggage allowance will be added by the Air Transat team.

Air Transat and pvtistes.net has teamed up for a special offer applicable on flights to and from Canada—an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge.

In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.

Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?

To be eligible, passengers must hold:

• An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
• A study permit.

This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.

It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.

Choose between two fare options

You will get an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge, so you can fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage (23 kg max each).

Air Transat offers two flexible fare options.

If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge. Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).

If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).

Note: Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.

Do I have to prove my eligibility?

Air Transat will perform random checks and contact passengers by email if selected. If you’re contacted, you will have to show proof of your port of entry (POE) letter, study permit or IEC permit. Otherwise, your extra luggage allowance will be cancelled.

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer

Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).

Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.

Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.

A third piece of checked luggage can’t be added, maximum is two pieces of checked luggage (up to 23 kg each).

The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.

Other family members who do not have an IEC or study permit (e.g. spouse, common-law partner, children) are not eligible for this special offer.

Seat selection and gourmet meals are not available with this special offer.
