The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.

- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. No complaints ! Everything was perfect from start to finish! Super good plan!
A big THANK YOU to Air Transat and PVTistes.net 🙂
Super offer. The luggage was directly linked to my ticket. I did not need to justify anything. It’s great.
Very good plan. At Marseille airport I did not even need to show my coupon I was told that it was already registered. It was really useful to take everything with me! Thank you!
My only concern was not about the right plan, but my luggage was left in Montreal while I was leaving for Toronto and I was assured that they would follow. I found them two days later. I do not think that this is the fault of Air Transat, but of customs since the man insisted that I collect my luggage in case there is a wait for immigration. I told him that I would not prefer to get them back in Montreal, but I think he did what he wanted. And although I asked Air Transat for confirmation downstairs and at boarding, they all told me that my luggage would not follow. Except that not! : /
However, the compensation is slow to come, so I think I will contact them on Monday because I arrived on the 7th and I had no feedback on my request.
In short, this aside in no way concerns the good plan which is really top! 🙂
Super good plan, my luggage was directly attached to my ticket nothing needed to do.
Thanks a lot ??
Very very good as good plans. Very simple and very useful. I recommend.
Very good plan !! No problem to check in luggage, everything worked perfectly. I recommend !
Excellent tip!
I only saw the offer after booking my tickets on the “normal” Air transat website and therefore did not comply with step 1. And yet it worked perfectly! Thanks again!
Hello Alex,
Glad to see that you enjoyed your bonus. Small clarification anyway regarding your request to avoid that other members draw false conclusions: as I explained to you on the forum, you benefited from a commercial gesture.
It remains exceptional and exercised on a case-by-case basis depending on the file and the possibility of modification on a flight. It is not systematic and I insist, the first step (passing by the link) remains mandatory.
Hope to share it with you again during your license.
Have a nice stay with the little family. 🙂
Top ! Thank you for the good plan Pvtistes and Air transat?
Request for a coupon for free luggage send in the morning, validated in the evening even at the top !!!!
Thank you pvtistes for this great plan!
Everything went very well ! We didn’t even have to show the voucher, everything was already recorded!
Thank you Cindy for your testimony.
Enjoy your stay in Canada. 🙂
Hi cindy
When making your internet reservation, did you add additional baggage and obtain a refund or did you just make a reservation without baggage and it was then that you had your checked baggage offered? Thank you 🙂
Basically, my companion wanted only one piece of checked baggage and I needed 2.
So, when buying the ticket, he took the option without luggage and I took 1 luggage (around forty euros more).
We then made the request for the good plan on PVT, so that his luggage is free and that I have a second free of charge.
And everything went very well. I was entitled to 2 checked baggage during check-in. ?
Thank you Cindy for your explanations for Théo. 🙂
Theo I also answered you in the support discussion for this good plan concerning the way of doing things.
There are no refunds. The baggage offered is in addition to what is (possibly) already included in the reservation, ie 0 or 1 checked baggage. To allow you to leave with a total of 2×23 kilos maximum.
