EnglishAir Transat and pvtistes.net has teamed up for a special offer applicable on flights to and from Canada—an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge.
In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
You can take advantage of this special offer as many times as you wish for the entire duration of your study or work permit.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
If you are traveling with your spouse, who does not yet have a work permit, they are also eligible for the offer, provided that they are traveling on the same dates as you and that the tickets are purchased in the same booking. On the day of your trip, make sure to have proof of your relationship.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion or promo code.

super good plan; the steps are simple to obtain it; I was able to take advantage of this offer when I left a few months ago; it is really very appreciable and it will be even more on the return with all that I will bring back ^^

Great plan! Please note, however: all Air Transat staff are not informed of the offer … The hostess who checked in was completely unaware: luckily her colleague heard our conversation !!
We used this offer for our departure in July 2015. It is very nice to have 17kgs more, especially when you go with children. The registration agents do not necessarily know this offer but after consultation, they validate the additional 17kgs.

Super good plan more than necessary when you leave for 1 year (and in addition you are a girl lol). The confirmation is sent very quickly, more than to print it, and I was even able to cumulate with the option more thus to have 10 kg still additional (to take under any reserve, because I had read at the time that some like me were able to cumulate and others not … I think it depends a lot on the agent on whom we come across at the airport). So, doubly thank you to your good relay teams 😉
If I can allow myself just one additional remark, which has nothing to do with the offer but which can serve … when making my reservation, being large enough, I also paid for a seat with more room for the legs … except that we are not warned at that time that more room for the legs means less room for the … (you will understand, and unfortunately, in addition to being tall, I am round lol), fortunately again I had to deal with a very friendly hostess who was able to replace me by exchanging with another person, but that still turned out to be quite annoying at the time “Madam, I can’t sit down “, and what would have happened if no other place had become available … Well, the customer service after complaint reimbursed me for this seat reservation but I still found it completely abnormal (and just the reimbursement, no compensation for “discomfort”). So if you are like me, tall and round, before booking a more comfortable seat, perhaps see to inquire a little more with the company, maybe there are different types of devices used and that my “experience” is not valid on another device (in my case, on paper, it was an A310-300)
