EnglishAir Transat and pvtistes.net has teamed up for a special offer applicable on flights to and from Canada—an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge.
In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
You can take advantage of this special offer as many times as you wish for the entire duration of your study or work permit.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
If you are traveling with your spouse, who does not yet have a work permit, they are also eligible for the offer, provided that they are traveling on the same dates as you and that the tickets are purchased in the same booking. On the day of your trip, make sure to have proof of your relationship.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion or promo code.

Catastrophic experience.
Flight scheduled from Marseille to Quebec, with a connection from Montreal to Quebec.
The flight went well but upon arrival my luggage was lost.
The connection could not be taken in time because of a problem at customs (due to the airport, not my fault) + luggage lost by the company.
At the counter they told me and certified that I would be delivered at their expense on the next Montreal/Quebec correspondence, the next morning, and that they would pay for the night at the hotel.
This was not respected and they did not want to know anything.
I had to spend the night at the airport, without my luggage which they had lost, without any fallback solution.
At the counter, they laughed in my face, telling me that it was “not their fault” if the correspondence could not be taken, asked me to call the company.
The company is absolutely unreachable by phone, there is a 2 to 3 hour wait.
So I had to wait two hours in line (at my expense), crying, in the middle of the night, at the airport.
After two hours they hung up on me.
So I had to look for a hotel at my own expense, in the middle of the night, without my luggage which was still not found, pay for a shuttle the next day, taxis.
I struggled for months to get an apology and reimbursement of expenses, only got a measly $100 voucher (the original flight was around $1000), knowing that I would never fly again with them.
Worst company.
I strongly advise against going through this good plan (pvtistes has nothing to do with it, but the company is atrocious and I don’t understand why, despite several such bad returns, they continue to work with it).
It helped us a lot more luggage that was wonderful thanks to air transat it was quick just printed the paper and that’s it
Despite several reminders, with pvtistes or airtransat I found myself at the airport without a second piece of luggage or having called pvtistes and airtransat both confirmed to me that I had indeed gone through the link and that it was ok. Also after that I was promised a refund (invoice in support) and I was never refunded. I strongly advise against this “good plan”
