EnglishAir Transat and pvtistes.net has teamed up for a special offer applicable on flights to and from Canada—an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge.
In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion or promo code.

I also decided to change flights and there was no problem, I received the coupon for the new date of my departure.
At the airport, it’s like a letter to the post office. I gave my coupon and the agent took my luggage. As simple as that

I was able to take advantage of the additional 17kg on the outward journey without problem on presentation of my coupon when checking in my luggage, and I will also take advantage of this on return since I had taken a return flight so that the offer can work on my two flights! I had received a few days before my departure the paper proving that I could benefit from this offer, so I had no problem when checking in luggage.
Also, great idea to put in contact the PVTistes who leave the same day. For those who do not know anyone on the spot, this can make it possible to have initial contacts when arriving.

Since yesterday we are finally ready for our big departure, but we have a problem with the airtransat site.
it is impossible to make a reservation and even just to access the tabs to choose the departure and arrival to consult the prices … etc …
is there a “beug”? or was it me who didn’t do the right thing?; (

I arrived in Montreal on July 22 via Air transat. I went through the pvtiste site to benefit from the additional 17 kilos and everything went well for the reception of the vouchers and for check-in at the airport! These kilos of luggage were also welcome when you go for a year abroad!

The lady who registered me still tried to make me believe that I was entitled to a suitcase of 23 kilos and a suitcase of 17kilos … I explained to her that I had 40 kilos distributed in 2 suitcases but that I couldn’t guarantee her 23 – 17 kilos … I think she understood for herself the stupidity of her thinking and she agreed to check in my bags … phew! : D

Here I have the 40kilos for my outward journey but I did not take my return ticket not knowing when I will return to Paris.
Once I have taken my return ticket can I re-apply for the 40kilos?
