In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. A very significant boost.
The description of the offer should detail that it is 40Kg of checked baggage, to which we can add 10Kg of cabin baggage.

Everything went very easily, once the plane ticket bought, I made my request for additional luggage. All the stages are well indicated and I received the validation of the offer 2 days later.
I took another 23 kg of additional baggage at the check-in of my baggage which cost me 75 euros or 100 dollars C, the most profitable because the post office is very expensive.
I had no problems all along.
But, does it also work for the return of the end of the work permit and return to France ??

Thank you for this good plan, the request was made super quickly and without problem. I think that without that, I would have doubled the price of my ticket!
In addition, the flights (at least from Paris) are direct, cheap, and the service on the plane is great!

For the times I have traveled, and despite some problems with validation (my fault), the team has managed to validate the voucher.
I never had any problem at the airport, and I was able to enjoy it serenely.
Assessment: At the top!
Super plan, I can only strongly advise, 40 kg is not negligible! It is reassuring for the outward journey but above all very practical for the return when we have amassed lots of business over several months. At the airport no difficulty with the vouchers, in short a real great plan!
Good plan perfect! With my boyfriend we both used the offer. Once registered and the tickets purchased we received the confirmation email 2 days later and were able to benefit from the extra kilos!
