EnglishAir Transat and pvtistes.net has teamed up for a special offer applicable on flights to and from Canada—an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge.
In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
You can take advantage of this special offer as many times as you wish for the entire duration of your study or work permit.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
If you are traveling with your spouse, who does not yet have a work permit, they are also eligible for the offer, provided that they are traveling on the same dates as you and that the tickets are purchased in the same booking. On the day of your trip, make sure to have proof of your relationship.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion or promo code.

I took Air Transat in June to go on vacation to Montreal. The schedules were well respected, the staff were very friendly and comfort was there (personal screen with films, etc.).

I am leaving from Paris but with a PVT obtained under the Irish quota. Can I still benefit from this offer? I am French but with an Irish passport.
Very practical the good plan. On the other hand, the fleet on the Toulouse / Montreal routes deserves to be renovated because not having an individual screen is a long journey …
You know it should not be a very busy route so I think they prefer to book their planes for more important routes 🙂

Hi. I did not really need the 17kg plan but I put my little opinion anyway.
It’s a great plan, simple, free and very useful. I received the coupon without problem and I was able to pack my luggage without asking myself if I was limited or not. It’s better than re-weighing it after each addition of socks.
In the end I had a 25kg bag and I was allowed to pass with it but at least when I saw the weight displayed at the airport, I was not worried.
And in general, I really recommend AirTransat. It’s not so expensive, there are enough movies to occupy a Paris-Montreal and therefore in addition you are not tickled for 0.5kg too much.
I was lucky to have been able to renew my PVT this year :-).
If we have already benefited from the offer for the PVT 2014, can we take advantage of it a second time for the PVT 2015?

Personally, I have not used the pvtistes.net offers, however, I just want to put a note.
In early April, I took an Paris-Montreal A330 with Air Transat, and frankly, I don’t regret it.
The flight was just perfect.
I left with my mountain bike (barely 23 EUR of transport !!).
The carbon frame arrived in PERFECT condition. Not a single scratch.
Brake discs and braking system and gears in perfect working order.
No wing, no breakage, shock or whatever.
So if you too have a great bike and you hesitate … ba don’t hesitate! ^^
But hey, you have to protect your mount a bit all the same, but I had done nothing “amazing”.
Voila, for the stressful of the handlebars;)

very good plan, even if the agents of Air transat de Nice knew neither the PVT nor this voucher and I almost had an additional cost because of their ignorance. But ultimately everything ended well.
