Frequently Asked Questions

Help, I haven’t received my coupon for the extra 23kg luggage allowance!

Air Transat is currently processing coupon requests for passengers leaving on 28 January 2020. If you filled out the request form and haven’t received your coupon yet even though your departure date is earlier than the departure date being processed, check your spam folder. Still nothing? Leave a message in this discussion thread (the comment section below is only for feedback from members who have used this special offer).

Who is eligible?
This is a special offer for PVTistes.net members with a valid Working Holiday, a Young Professionals, an International Co-op Internship or a student work permit. Their spouse/partner and/or children are not eligible.

What’s my “File number”?
It’s your Air Transat booking number.

Can I use this special offer several times during the validity of my work permit (WHV, YP, etc.)?
Yes, you can use it up to two times during the validity of your POE Letter of Introduction/work permit. If you’re booking a round-trip ticket, you will be issued one coupon you can use for both your outbound and return flight. If you’re booking two one-way flights, you will have to request one coupon per flight.

I got a coupon for a flight but I didn’t use it. Can I request another coupon for another flight?
All coupons issued are considered used, regardless of whether you actually used it or not. So think twice before you request your coupon—do you actually need it for this flight? If you have a coupon but change your travel dates, your coupon is no longer valid and you won’t be able to request a new one for the trip.

I’m flying Air Transat but I didn’t book my ticket through PVTistes.net. Am I eligible?
No. You must buy your ticket through PVTistes.net to take advantage of this deal.

Can this offer be combined with other Air Transat offers or promotions?
No. This offer can’t be combined with Option Plus, Eco Flex, Club Class or additional baggage fees.
The only option it can be combined with is seat selection (without options).

Can I use the extra baggage allowance to fly my pet in the checked baggage hold?
Unfortunately, pet transport isn’t included in the offer. Please read Pets and Assistance Dogs for more options offered by Air Transat.

We are a couple travelling with an IEC work permit. How can we make sure we’ll be flying together?
It’s easy, just buy both tickets at the same time through PVTistes.net by clicking the buttons. Then fill out one request form per passenger as described in step 2.

When does the deal end?
For now, the offer doesn’t have an end date.

How do I use my coupon?
Simply show your coupon to Air Transat staff at the baggage drop-off counter and your extra 23kg will be accepted. You don’t even have to print the coupon, you can show the digital version on your phone. Note that Air Transat staff may check their database to make sure the coupon is valid.

My IEC work permit was activated and my POE Letter of Introduction expired. Am I eligible?
Yes. Instead of attaching a copy of your POE Letter of Introduction, attach a copy of the valid work permit stapled in your passport.
“Expired” means that the date in the “Permit validity” box on your Port of Entry (POE) Letter of Introduction has passed. For instance, if you had to land in Canada before July 5, 2019, it means your POE Letter of Introduction expires on July 5, 2019. If your return flight is after this date, you must attach a copy of the work permit stapled in your passport.

I booked a round-trip flight. Will I get another coupon for the return portion?
No, you must show the same coupon you used on your outbound flight.
If you bought a one-way ticket and then book your return flight, you must fill out another request form.

Can I use the coupon for sporting equipment (e.g. a bike) subject to a fee?
No, the coupon can only be used for 23kg of standard checked baggage not subject to additional fees. Read Baggage weight and dimensions for more details on Air Transat’s baggage policy, baggage dimensions and transportation of sporting equipment.

Step 2: Fill out the form

Please fill out the coupon request form below. Make sure your personal information matches the details on your Port of Entry (POE) Letter of Introduction (for those travelling to Canada) or your visa (for Canadians travelling to Europe). Note that if your POE Letter or visa has expired, you must attach a copy of the work permit issued when landing at destination.

Note : Requests are usually processed two weeks before the departure date. However, during peak season, processing times may be longer. Please be patient and remember that Air Transat is working hard to process thousands of requests.

Air Transat is currently processing coupon requests for passengers leaving on 28 January 2020.

Do not forget to take your Globe PVT insurance for the duration of your WHV. If you have less than 2 years of insurance, you might have a WHV of the duration of your insurance!

I printed my boarding pass at the airport, indicating the baggage I wanted to check in. Not even need to show my coupon, the amount was directly displayed at 0 at the terminal. Super efficient!

Super good plan! Easy to have and no need to print any paper for D-Day.
A suitcase of 23kg more, especially during this period, it is not negligible: D
Thank you!

It was a bit fuzzy with a return ticket. I thought I had the offer to go and return but I only got it to go. I will have to contact air transat to buy luggage for the return.

Hello Franck,
If it is the same reservation and your permit is still valid for the return flight, a free baggage has been added for the outward journey but also for the return.
It was enough to read this page (Instructions and faq) to know it. Noted.
"- The city of destination of your flight: if you have a return ticket, indicate the city of destination of the first trip for which you request. Your coupon will also be valid for the return. Baggage will be pre-added for all flights in the reservation eligible.

- Your departure date = the date of your flight: if you have a return ticket, indicate the date of the flight for which you are requesting. Your coupon will also be valid for the return. "
Have a good stay in Canada and have a good return flight in advance. :)

According to Carô, Ok apparently also for the promotion on the return ticket. On the form received for the promotion it is stipulated only the date to go (from "go" to "go"). This can be confusing when taking a return, but normally everything should be fine for the return too.

Your name and reservation number matter, not the date or destination on the coupon. I repeat: your baggage has already been pre-added for the return. You have nothing more to do than respect the limit (number and weight: 2x23 kilos max in total) to take advantage of it.
Have a nice trip.
