Why Settle in Ontario?

Interested in becoming a permanent resident in Canada, while seeking the perfect blend of opportunity and community?

Look no further than the province of Ontario. Renowned as a top destination for living and working in Canada, Ontario boasts a thriving economy, offering many career opportunities across various sectors, including healthcare and skilled trades. Ontario also offers diverse communities and regions that cater to every lifestyle preference, from the energy of urban centers to the charm of smaller towns.

It’s a unique place to either learn or improve your English while maintaining your culture and French language. Around 1.5 million people speak both French and English in Ontario. With French communities, French-language schools, social services, and cultural activities, Franco-Ontarians enjoy education and cultural life throughout the province.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

When it comes to taking those first steps in settling in Ontario, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) recognizes and nominates skilled Francophone immigrants for permanent resident status. While the Government of Canada makes the final decision to approve applications for permanent residence, the OINP complements federal economic immigration programs by offering several streams, including:

  • the Ontario Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream, which is dedicated to bilingual Francophones
  • the Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream, for those who have the required skilled work experience, education and language abilities in French or English.
  • the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream, for those with a permanent job offer from an employer in Ontario

Each year the OINP receives its nomination allocation from the federal government. For 2024, the province boasts an impressive allocation of 21,500 nominations.
