Interviews with Working Holiday Makers
Since 2005, pvtistes.net has been dedicated to sharing the various experiences lived during a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) through stories and interviews. With this project, we wanted to give a central place to the voices of working holiday participants, showing that there are as many different WHVs as there are working holiday makers.
To do this, we conducted interviews over several months with about thirty of them, who agreed to share their life journeys, their doubts, their regrets, their discoveries, their moments of happiness, and many anecdotes – in short, everything that makes up a WHV!
We were truly moved by everyone who agreed to take part in this project, and we hope you will be as well!

General tips and tricks. That’s great. If I can add an external comment. It would be nice to have more countries. I went to New Zealand and your site helped me a lot. I’m getting ready to go to the UK but there really isn’t much help for that country on your site. It might be interesting to help for that country. It seems rather complicated. Ps I’m Canadian hahaha. Thank you very much
There are many topics I hadn’t even considered. It’s very diverse and very comprehensive.
It’s useful for understanding the country, the culture, the system, housing, and socialization. In short, very diverse and very comprehensive.
The paper version would be great, but you just have to consider the price.
A pocket-sized version would be practical to take with you on-site, and why not a few pages of personal notes?
Comprehensive yet concise on the topics.
Clear
Many useful links
Can we buy this book instead of downloading it?
It allowed me to have testimonials of PVT in NZ, where I plan to go. Your site is very complete, I had almost no questions but I wanted to read the feelings of those who went to NZ about this country, and in particular to see what they thought of it in comparison with other countries in which they would also have done a PVT. Since many PVTs have visited two countries, the pdf was perfect. I am indeed attracted by other destinations, especially in South America and I therefore wanted to confirm my choice of NZ ahah. Generally speaking, your PVT site is really great. It seems to me that you answer absolutely all the questions that one could have, from the very beginning of the project to the practical details. I don’t know if I would have started if I hadn’t come across it. So thank you.
Very good to be able to better understand the reality that some working holidaymakers have experienced given that I don’t know anyone who has done it in my circle but I want to go to Korea and there weren’t that many testimonies about it)
for poignant testimonies
It allowed me to understand the accommodation system and their working methods.
This booklet provides feedback from former working holidaymakers, which is great. It allows for a different perspective on the destination.
A big plus is the budget/destination aspect, which is an important factor to consider.
The only downside is that there isn’t much feedback on the less popular destinations, even though these are the ones I personally expected more information/feedback on.
Really great to have discovered places in certain provinces/countries
