Interviews with Working Holiday Makers
Since 2005, pvtistes.net has been dedicated to sharing the various experiences lived during a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) through stories and interviews. With this project, we wanted to give a central place to the voices of working holiday participants, showing that there are as many different WHVs as there are working holiday makers.
To do this, we conducted interviews over several months with about thirty of them, who agreed to share their life journeys, their doubts, their regrets, their discoveries, their moments of happiness, and many anecdotes – in short, everything that makes up a WHV!
We were truly moved by everyone who agreed to take part in this project, and we hope you will be as well!

To note different experiences and different points of view depending on each working holiday maker’s plans!
It’s helpful to see that we all have almost the same concerns and how to overcome them.
To learn about the experiences of working holidaymakers first and foremost, to inspire me to go solo. I’ve traveled before, but I’ve never gone abroad for work. I want to try the adventure, just to see. Thanks to the team for the guide.
Great guide that allows you to travel despite the ever-present lockdown!
Feedback helps you better understand things, and in this case, doing a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) is like stepping into the unknown (for me), and hearing from people who have experienced it is very informative and reassuring!
Of course, every experience is different, but it gives you ideas of things to do and, on the contrary, things to avoid!
Get a clearer idea of the destination!
Thank you so much 🙂
To hear about the experiences of other Pvtists and discover adventures in other countries. However, I am left wanting more and it was frustrating to read a bit of their story and not know what happened next. It left a feeling of unfinished business, which is a shame because their experiences are interesting and it is good to know the beginning and end of their experience as a PVtist.
Hello Catherine,
I understand the frustration, but for practical reasons, we have to limit ourselves to the stories; otherwise, Paroles de pvtistes would have to be published in several volumes because you all have incredible stories to share with us! And the idea is also to inspire you to write YOUR own sequel by setting off on your own journey.
Hello,
I downloaded your book of lyrics for my daughter who
wants to leave in the next 18 months to 2 years, and I wanted her to read these testimonials to understand the experience
of being a Pviste.
My Working Holiday Visa in Canada has just ended. I had already read articles about my experiences before and during my Working Holiday Visa.
It not only helps you get an idea and insight into the country you’re immigrating to, even though each experience is unique.
It also helps you connect with others through certain testimonials and realize that many of us share this perspective, similar feelings, and emotions.
I discovered experiences there, the one I was looking for (only 1). Even if it was often around the same countries. Perhaps the profiles should have been varied. But overall very satisfactory.
Feedback, especially on everyone’s state of mind before and during, very interesting!
