Interviews with Working Holiday Makers
Since 2005, pvtistes.net has been dedicated to sharing the various experiences lived during a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) through stories and interviews. With this project, we wanted to give a central place to the voices of working holiday participants, showing that there are as many different WHVs as there are working holiday makers.
To do this, we conducted interviews over several months with about thirty of them, who agreed to share their life journeys, their doubts, their regrets, their discoveries, their moments of happiness, and many anecdotes – in short, everything that makes up a WHV!
We were truly moved by everyone who agreed to take part in this project, and we hope you will be as well!

Lots of feedback on various experiences on many important topics during the PVT, the language, the costs, the luggage, the work, the places to visit, the people we met… And it’s full of fascinating anecdotes!
There are quite a few impressions. The only thing missing is a working holiday maker who has gone to learn English in an English-speaking country with a low level.
Hi Fabien,
There are quite a few testimonials on the site, like Pauline’s: https://pvtistes.net/recit-de-pvtiste-partir-seule-a-toronto-faible-niveau-anglais/
Thank you for your quick response.
A very good testimonial indeed, thank you very much.
I’m in it so I wanted to reread it, but also be able to learn more about destinations thanks to his testimonies!
The apprehension of leaving, the distance from loved ones, the positive and negative points that are addressed in these testimonies are all interesting and allow me to answer a little more of some of the questions I have. This book really makes me want to discover new cultures and travel and absolutely confirms my desire to go on a Pvt next year. The feedback and thoughts before departure are all different, which makes it a complete book, which is very easy to read. I simply loved it.
I devoured this ebook!! I’m preparing for my Pvt in South Korea, so this is helping me a lot! It’s clear we’re not alone in going through all the emotions, in dealing with the reactions of our loved ones, and we find ourselves in the fears and excitements. It’s really great, thank you for what you do for the working holiday maker community.
PS: Précillia’s account of Korea mentions a blog. Is it possible to get the address of this blog in any way? I’m very interested. Thank you.
Hello, and thank you for your kind words! I’m glad to see that you felt the same way we did while writing the book! 🙂
Regarding the link to Précillia’s blog, it’s in the text of the book, but here it is: http://www.lespiedsencoree.com/
Have a good start, have a great WHV, and come back and tell us about Korea when you’re there! 🙂
Ooh, I’m so sorry, I must have missed something 😮
I’m very absent-minded, haha ^^’
Thanks anyway!
Thank you for this collection! The people are quite different, which gives you an idea of life as a working holiday maker. I don’t know if it reassures me, 15 days before my departure to Canada, but it encourages me to go for it and make the most of this experience.
Thank you for your message, that’s exactly what we wanted to do with this book! Show all the possibilities offered by the PVT, the successes and sometimes the less good surprises, but that’s also part of the experience and you shouldn’t fear them! 🙂 Happy PVT!
This book is just excellent! Thanks for the great work 😉
