Interviews with Working Holiday Makers
Since 2005, pvtistes.net has been dedicated to sharing the various experiences lived during a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) through stories and interviews. With this project, we wanted to give a central place to the voices of working holiday participants, showing that there are as many different WHVs as there are working holiday makers.
To do this, we conducted interviews over several months with about thirty of them, who agreed to share their life journeys, their doubts, their regrets, their discoveries, their moments of happiness, and many anecdotes – in short, everything that makes up a WHV!
We were truly moved by everyone who agreed to take part in this project, and we hope you will be as well!

It’s interesting to look back at my testimony from a year ago and see how what I was able to say has evolved.
I’m currently on a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) in Canada and was thinking about another one in Australia, but I’m not sure what to expect. After reading the testimonials of other WHV travelers, I’m dying to go to South America!
You really don’t know what to expect from some countries you’ve only heard of, but the testimonials and stunning photos do a great job of making you want to discover some lesser-known destinations 🙂
Excellent for learning about other PVTs, not just the “classic” ones (Australia, NZ and Canada)
This summary of testimonies allows us to form a fairly objective picture, without being under any illusions, since everyone relates their experiences according to their own perceptions. It is also interesting to note the perception of French behavior and reasoning abroad and by people of other nationalities. Thank you for this work!
It made me realize that many people are doing a Working Holiday Visa with the same motivations as me. It also allowed me to relax about the amount of savings I could have. There’s something for everyone!
I’m going on a working holiday visa soon, and it’s good to read testimonials and see that people have gone through the same things we have. The stress, the excitement, the questions we ask ourselves. It’s a very good book that I devoured. The only small point where I have something to complain about is that the testimonials are very focused on certain countries, while others are a little less developed. For example, South Korea.
Source of inspiration and motivation!
It helps reassure yourself and confirm your choice to do a Working Holiday Visa. It’s also a very useful tool for reassuring loved ones and showing them what such an experience can bring. It also helps prepare by anticipating the challenges some people may have faced. Thank you for all this work!
I recognized myself in many of the testimonies.
I read it after my return to France, but it’s very interesting to see that you can have completely different projects with a PVT. It could be very inspiring for a future PVT! (Who knows?)
