1. Can you please introduce yourself?
Hi my name is Lucile, I’m 27. After 5 years of studies in communications, I started my career in the digital space. For the past two years, I’ve also become a bit of a weekend handywoman by renovating my apartment. Before that, I had already put my DIY skills to the test by fitting my van to go travelling with my dog. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from watching Youtube tutorials!

2. What is your role at pvtistes.net?
I manage our social media accounts. My role is to bring our community to life by engaging with and helping prospective travellers, but also by gathering and sharing stories from those who have already embarked on a working holiday. Our social media accounts are kind of a window into our team: we announce important news, share useful guides and articles, and above all, we value this global community that is united by the WHV experience.

3. If you went on a working holiday, what destination would you choose and why?
Canada, without hesitation! Specifically Toronto. My dog already looks more like a polar bear than a dog, so he would be ecstatic to play in the snow there. Also, Canada would be the easiest WHV destination to travel to with a dog. There’s also the fact that I would like to become fully bilingual in English (French is my first language). But who knows, maybe I’ll end up tempted by another country!

4. Have you already travelled abroad? Any memorable anecdotes to share?
Yes I’ve already visited several countries, but one of my favourite memories is a wedding in Lebanon that I attended. I was able to discover the country with my local friends, which really made the experience unique. The best way to understand a culture is to see everything alongside locals living their everyday life.

5. For you, what is the importance of discovering other cultures?
Opening oneself up to others and to the world is, I think, the recipe for happiness. The more we discover, the more we can stay positive. A Canadian who has never tasted a Breton crepe with caramel and salted butter, for example, doesn’t even realize the gastronomic joy that he could be experiencing every day, what a shame!

6. What are your plans now?
Continue to explore! I have lots of friends and family living abroad and I would like to visit them more often and have my own adventures too. Whether it’s in France, Europe, or elsewhere, I like to exchange ideas and stories with others, all the while maintaining a stable home base and job, not to forget my four-legged companion, of course.
