Signing the Canadian immigration form IMM5707 is one step that often causes confusion among members of pvtistes.net.
First, to retrieve the form, you must:
- Find it and download it. It can be found on the personal list of documents in your canada.ca account, or on the Canadian government’s website.
- Open it. Some members have reported seeing an error message. If that’s your case, follow these steps.
- Complete it fully and correctly.
- Sign it. To do so, you have two options, explained below.
Option 1 for signing the form IMM5707 (recommended)
Once you are at the step of signing your completed application for a study or work permit to Canada, your signature will be automatically applied to this form as well; you don’t need to worry about adding a date or signature separately for it.
In other words, as long as you sign and submit your permit/visa application file, you can rest assured knowing that there is no way that you will “forget” to sign this form – it is done automatically.
Option 2
Alternatively, you can:
- Print it.
- Sign it by hand.
- Scan and upload it.
This option is more complicated, which is why we recommend option 1.
