11Do I keep the same TFN?

Whether you apply for your second Working Holiday Visa right after your first adventure or a few months or years later, it makes no difference–your TFN does not change!

So there’s no need to reapply for a TFN at the start of your second WHV. Your TFN is recorded on your pay slips, on your tax return documents and on your superannuation.

If you can’t find it, contact the Australian government at this number (from Australia only): 13 28 61 (between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday to Friday) for information or to make an appointment.

Your identity will be checked, so remember to have your passport number and visa number handy when calling the ATO.

If you have any questions about applying for a TFN, read Everything you need to know about the Australian Tax File Number (TFN).
