In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
You can take advantage of this special offer as many times as you wish for the entire duration of your study or work permit.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
If you are traveling with your spouse, who does not yet have a work permit, they are also eligible for the offer, provided that they are traveling on the same dates as you and that the tickets are purchased in the same booking. On the day of your trip, make sure to have proof of your relationship.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion or promo code.

Last night, my boyfriend and I checked with pvtiste to have the additional 17 kg, a few minutes after we received confirmation by email.
This morning by wanting to book by the red link on pvtiste (with firefox), the site did not work properly (may be a browser problem), impossible to make a reservation. So I went through another browser (IE) to buy the tickets and I went back to the first one to enter the file number and the departure date.
Since we are more than 21 days before departure, how do we know if it is good or not for the 17 kg? Because because of the problem encountered, I do not think that it is validated. Is there a recourse possible with Air Transat knowing that there is no right of withdrawal with this company.
I have the email justifying the Air Transat 17 verification + letter of introduction.

2 small questions if there is someone who can answer.
– If in the form, I put that my destination is Quebec, do I have to book a ticket for Quebec?
– By having the 17 kilos offered offer, doesn’t that prevent taking additional AirTransat suitcases at the normal price? (it seems to me that the first sup suitcase is 80 € and the second 160 €). Which would make me leave with 4 suitcases if I paid for an extra suitcase: the 2 suitcases with the PVT offer, the extra suitcase at 80 € and the cabin suitcase of 10 kilos. It works ? (even if it seems difficult to manage 4 suitcases: p)

Note that you can also take sports equipment apart from up to 20 kilos in addition to 40kg with the right plan.

Please, I need a little help to get the 17kg overweight. also. I am in the same case as Thibaut alias tibro. I have already booked my Air Transat ticket. I called Air Transat this afternoon to find out if I could still benefit from the 17kg weight, I ran into a lady who invited me to contact PVTistes.net. Basically, she tells me that if PVTistes gives its approval, this is no problem for Air Transat.

I took my ticket on the Air Transat website but without going through the link. So I don’t know if it’s still possible because the Air Transat booking code. I was even ready to pay to have a 2nd suitcase in the hold.
Suddenly I phoned Air Transat yesterday to find out if I could still benefit from the 17 kilos granted exceptionally to PVTists. This is where the lady at the end of the line invited me to contact you because according to her, vs you are the only ones who can grant me this favor because I have already booked my ticket 🙁
