EnglishAir Transat and pvtistes.net has teamed up for a special offer applicable on flights to and from Canada—an extra 23 kg luggage allowance at no charge.
In other words, Air Transat will carry a piece of checked luggage at no cost. Note that you won’t get a refund on any luggage fees charged, this offer only gives eligible passengers the opportunity to travel with an extra piece of luggage at no additional cost.
You can take advantage of this special offer as many times as you wish for the entire duration of your study or work permit.
Who can benefit from this special offer on Air Transat flights?
To be eligible, passengers must hold one of the following:
- An International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (Working Holiday, Young Professionals or International Co-op permit); or
- A study permit.
- A valid employer-specific work permit.
- A valid spousal work permit.
If you are traveling with your spouse, who does not yet have a work permit, they are also eligible for the offer, provided that they are traveling on the same dates as you and that the tickets are purchased in the same booking. On the day of your trip, make sure to have proof of your relationship.
The immediate relatives of qualifying visa holders (father, mother, siblings) are also eligible for the offer, if they travel together on the same booking.
If you are travelling with your child, you can reserve his or her ticket at the same time as yours. However, he or she would not be eligible for the special offer by Air Transat and pvtistes.net.
This special offer applies to flights from Europe to Canada and flights from Canada to Europe (only to and from countries where the national currency is the euro or the Canadian dollar. For example, flights from the United Kingdom are not eligible for the offer).
Flights from/to the French West Indies are not eligible for the offer.
It can be used as many times as you wish during the validity of your IEC or study permit.
Choose between two fare options
If you buy an ECO BUDGET ticket (no checked luggage included), this special offer will allow you to add ONE PIECE OF CHECKED LUGGAGE at no extra charge.
Travelling with two pieces of luggage? No worries, you can add a second piece of checked luggage at a later date for a fee and fly with up to two pieces of checked luggage in total (23 kg max each).
If you buy an ECO STANDARD ticket, a piece of checked luggage is already included in the price. This special offer will allow you to add another piece of checked luggage at no extra charge, so you’ll be able to travel with TWO PIECES OF CHECKED LUGGAGE in total (23 kg max each).

The (not so) fine print for the Air Transat offer
- Maximum allowance per passenger is two pieces of checked luggage, 23 kg each. Adding a third piece of luggage is not possible with these fares.
- Maximum weight for each piece of checked luggage is 23 kg. Height + width + length must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- Each passenger is entitled to board with one piece of hand luggage and one personal item which are both subject to size restrictions. Maximum dimensions for your carry-on are 23 × 40 × 51 cm (9 × 16 × 20 in). Read Air Transat’s baggage allowance for more details.
- Special items (e.g. sporting equipment, music instruments) are not included in this special offer.
- The offer can’t be applied to transport of pets in the checked baggage hold. However, you can apply it to a regular piece of checked luggage and pay a separate fee to travel with your pet. For more info, read Pets and assistance dogs.
- Seat selection and gourmet meals are available with this special offer.
- Please note that this offer cannot be applied to codeshare flights (where one of the flight segments is operated by another airline partner), to "connectair by Air Transat" flights or to routes involving a train "Train + Air" segment. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion or promo code.

Suddenly I change my vote 🙂 Good plan super interesting and anyway Air Transat is the company that offered the cheapest tickets for my flight Lyon Montreal (direct and more!).
Having already traveled with them I can say that the service on the plane is correct.
The only small negatives: not all possible destinations (I would have liked to arrive direct to Ottawa) but hey haha you can not have everything. And you have to be careful to validate the 17 kg, especially with the bug that prevents booking through pvtistes.net

I went through pvtistes.net just now but as I had technical problems (impossible to select a reservation on air transat) I had to go through another browser (IE) but I did not know at all that the link was tracked suddenly I just continued direct on air transat from the other browser, bought my ticket then returned to firefox to enter the file number and departure date !!! Is that fucked up ????

We are aware of the technical problem on the Air Transat site, I reported it on Saturday and I hope that it will be corrected on Monday.

I traveled on Saturday January 25 from Paris to Montreal with Air Transat. I was a little worried about my baggage weight but ultimately everything went very well. 40 kg in the hold without problem.

Once my luggage was sent in the hold, I asked the counter agent if I could NOT choose the seat I want on the plane. He replied: Sorry, what? I repeated again “I don’t know how to choose my seat”? He was lost! Then there, I realized: “m ****, will have to start to leave your belgicisms aside. Already that here in Paris, it is not obvious, then in Montreal with all these expressions we will not be able to understand”. So I said to him: Sorry, excuse me, it was Belgianism. Couldn’t I choose my seat on the plane please? Aaaaaaaaah finally we finally understood! He looked at me and laughed out loud. Today I am trying to book my plane ticket to Montreal via the link provided to us on the PVTistes.net site in order to benefit from the additional 17kilos with AirTransat.
However, once on the site, impossible to click on the link “book this flight” and go further.
We tried on different computers, same observation.

Yes, many of us have the same problem … this is a site bug! I sent an email to customer service hope this is resolved quickly!

I had this bug and I found the solution, in fact it is enough to use internet explorer and when you will be on the site you will see at the top of the browser next to the url of the site a small button which looks like a torn file, you must click on it to activate the compatibility display

Is it possible to book the ticket plus the 17 kg free with the Belgian version of the air transat site, because I do not have a visa card and on the Belgian version of the site, you can pay via “Bancontact” (system debit card payment)?
Or when I click on the button “Book and take advantage of 17 additional kilos offered” and it sends me to the French site of air transat, I can change the version of the site, but will they always keep track of fact that I am entitled to a coupon for the 17 kg?

Unfortunately to have the offer you have to use the link to which we refer otherwise you will not have the additional 17 kilos free. Can’t you ask a friend or your parents to use their visa card and will you reimburse them? It’s a really interesting economy;)

I have been trying to book my ticket for several hours but it hangs at the same stage, I choose the day and when I click on the button “book this flight” nothing happens. I tried several times, on several browsers (chrome, firefox, IExplorer), I restarted my pc, empty the history and cookies, but still nothing …

It still does not work ! Even my girlfriend with her mac (and by deactivating everything) does not succeed, the Belgian site does not have the same bug, on the other hand the French version blocks each time in the same place, what do I do?

It’s just that we have just implemented a new procedure, it takes a little time for us to communicate the information to Air Transat but they are very responsive so it should be fine.
