Hello,
I share my bad experience with the BNC, because yes there is.
First, I had pre-opened my account via the pvtiste offer, and I never received confirmation of an appointment on site. I had to fight all day to get one.
Then, once there, nobody was aware of this good plan, result it’s been 3 weeks and I’m still waiting for the 50 dollars, and nobody can confirm to me if I would have them one day or not.
It’s not over, by wanting to transfer my money from France to my Canadian account, the funds systematically return to my French account. I had to go to a branch, rent a car (because I do not live in town), which generated a certain number of costs for me to be told that “oops your Canadian account is frozen, we forgot to unlock it “, ok ….
And there I just received my credit card (after 3 weeks!), And could not activate it because it was not registered in my account at the time of the order (unbelievable but true), so I am still in fighting with the BNC to fix the problems. And I am still without a Canadian phone because no credit card, no plan, so hello outside the plan.
Looking back, I regret a little that I chose this bank, because I only have problems.
Hello Méline,
I just told the BNC.
Hello Méline, I’m sorry to read this. It does not reflect the experience we want to offer you.
I’d love to watch this with you and help you sort it out. Please do not hesitate to send us a private message so that I can do so. You can also write to us on messenger here https://bit.ly/2BaEDp5. ^ Federal
Hello guys,
Need your testimony for those who have pre-opened an account at the BNC before arriving, I opened a new account 13 days ago – New arrivals, I had the confirmation email with the indication that in the next 3 days I will receive an email with the confirmation of account opening and all the instructions .. but I have absolutely not received it, is it normal that the delays are longer? Did you also take a long time to receive this email?
Thank you for your help? ☺
Hello, send us a private message. We will validate with you. 🙂
Hello,
The exact same thing happens to me.
Account opened on November 2 with this famous email and since nothing. No emails, no contact or even return emails from people I was advised during a video with the BNC to sell me their services ….
@MaryseBrez I see you wrote to us in private and via Messenger. Rest assured that we can assist you with everything?
Hello, why did he ask us for the TIN? Did I communicate the one from France? For what purposes has this number been useful to you?
Hello ,
I am about to open an online account with the “newcomer” offer However I have a small question about opening online;
> I already have a residence address in Canada for my arrival (August 30), do I have to enter this or my current address in France? This will not have an impact on whether or not to benefit from the “newcomer” formula?
In advance, thank you for your answer
Maëva
Hello,
I am a French student who will be starting his full time masters in September. Your offer is of particular interest to me and so I naturally started to fill out the form for newcomers.
However, I have two questions:
I am asked for a SIN except that I do not have one, do I have to enter my French social security number?
I am also asked for a TIN, but I do not have one because I have never worked, declared taxes and I am attached to my parents’ tax household. What should I do ? Put my father’s NIF?
Regards,
Thomas eyraud
Hello Vanessa,
I am currently in Canada, I have just activated my WHV and I am interested in opening a BNC account. However, I am not sure that I correctly interpreted the following information:
– If I would like to close my BNC account before the end of the period provided for this 3-year welcome promotional offer, what will be the financial consequences for me? Will the offer simply end when my account is closed or will I have to repay the equivalent, not having gone after the 3 year period?
– How many payments (number and maximum amount) in shops and ATM withdrawals are planned for the type of account covered by the promotion?
– Are there any other account closure fees to be expected? (Management fees, etc.)
– I am currently in the small village of Osoyoos for another 4 months, with a simple BNC counter available here. Does this pose a problem for obtaining my payment card?
A big thank you in advance, I hope to be able to proceed with the opening of my account during the day because I will be very busy the next few days!
See you soon,
Vanessa
Hello Vanessa, there is no charge for closing the account. To open an account, you must go to a branch (for identification purposes). You will therefore not be able to open an account from Osoyoos.
Hello Vanessa,
Did you get an answer for your first 2 questions? I ask myself exactly the same. I plan to be in Canada for 2 years and am afraid of having to pay the fixed monthly fee if I cancel at the end of the 2nd year.
Thank you for your help,
Amelie
Hello,
I applied online to open a BNC account and unfortunately discovered the $ 50 offer later. I have already received an email with my account number but I am still in France so the opening is not finalized.
Is it still possible to take advantage of the offer?
Thank you 🙂
Hello Louise? This offer applies automatically only if you open your account from this site. We cannot apply it otherwise. Please do not hesitate to send us a private message if you have any further questions. ^ Federal
Hello, is the free plan and the $ 50 offered still valid? Thank you.
Hello, I am considering opening an account at the BNC for my arrival at the end of June.
Only I go to work for 3 months in Tadoussac and there is only a Desjardins ATM.
If I have to withdraw how much is the charge please?
In advance, thank you for your answer.
Hello Elodie, the fees will then be $ 1.50 per withdrawal. Desjardins could also charge fees for the use of their ATM.
Hello,
I want to open an online bank account from abroad because I will be going to Quebec next July to do a doctorate (3 years). I am going to stay in Amos and I cannot select your branch located in this town when I register. How do I proceed? Also, I would have liked to know if it is possible to obtain a specimen check from a bank account as soon as the account is opened from abroad. I need it as soon as possible in order to be able to transfer my scholarship to my account in Quebec.
Thanks in advance for your reply and have a nice day!
Ana VERHULST-CASANOVA
Hello Ana, not all branches can be selected for opening. You just have to choose the one that is closest and we will make the change when you arrive. You will be given your specimen checks when the branch opening is finalized. I’m here if you have any further questions. ^ Fairy
Thank you for your reply. Could it be possible:
– to carry out a power of attorney so that one of my relatives present in Quebec can go to one of your branches and finalize the request in my name and thus obtain the specimen check?
– obtain the specimen check before arriving in Canada in order to be able to deposit the stock market as soon as the bank account is opened?
In addition, could you tell me what is the “value of assets” that I must declare when opening the bank account?
The opening of an account cannot be finalized by means of a power of attorney. Once your opening request has been completed, you will receive your account information which will allow you to receive a transfer. The value of assets is the amount you hold. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to send us a private message directly Ana, we are here for you. ^ Fairy
