Details of the $100 offer
You can benefit from this offer if you are arriving in Canada soon (within less than 90 days) or arrived in Canada less than 5 years ago, regardless of your status:
- Working Holiday visa holders;
- other types of workers (Young Professionals, LMIA-based work permits, etc.);
- students;
- interns;
- permanent residents;
- (recent) Canadian citizens.
This offer allows you to receive a $100 welcome bonus. The conditions to benefit from it are very simple and not very restrictive. You must meet 3 criteria:
1. Open a chequing account before leaving for Canada OR from Canada if you are already living there, using one of the 2 pvtistes.net links:
2. Once in Canada, enrol in online banking (to manage your accounts from your phone or make bill payments, etc.) within a maximum of 150 days. You can do this with your advisor during your first appointment.
3. Within a maximum of 150 days, use your debit card at least 10 times (in-store payments, bill payments through your mobile app, for example).
an you benefit from an even better offer from BNC?
From time to time, the National Bank of Canada offers even more generous promotions for certain profiles.
For example, from May 7 to November 2, 2026, it is possible to receive up to $600, subject to conditions:
- Receive $300 when you open a chequing account and meet certain criteria (see the 4 criteria listed below).
- Receive $100 when you get a Mastercard credit card and, subject to approval, make a minimum of 20 purchase transactions with this new card.
- Receive $100 when you set up a recurring pre-authorized debit to pay your National Bank mortgage from your new chequing account.
- Receive $100 when you open a new high-interest savings account and deposit at least $5,000 into it.
It is up to you to decide whether you think you can meet all the eligibility requirements for the first $300:
1. Open a chequing account.
2. Once in Canada, enrol in online banking (to manage your accounts from your phone or make bill payments, for example) within a maximum of 120 days. You can do this with your advisor during your first appointment.
3. Within a maximum of 120 days, use your debit card at least 20 times (in-store payments, bill payments at a National Bank branch ATM, for example).
4. Receive at least 3 eligible automatic direct deposits of at least $100 each, according to the following schedule:
- 1st deposit: within 60 days of opening the chequing account.
- 2nd deposit: between day 60 and day 89 following the opening of the chequing account.
- 3rd deposit: between day 90 and day 120 following the opening of the chequing account.
Important: if you are arriving in Canada soon or have just arrived, generally the only “eligible automatic direct deposit” you can receive is a salary. If you do not plan to work during the first few months of your stay in Canada, you will not be eligible for this offer – the $100 offer may be a better fit for your situation.
How can you make sure you get the offer that best suits your profile?
We recommend that you always open your account using one of the 2 pvtistes.net links so that you can be eligible for this $100 offer:
When you go to the bank to finalize the opening of your account and collect your debit card, talk to your advisor and ask them any questions you may have about the $600 offer. You can discuss the best option for you together 🙂
Important: if, on the other hand, you sign up for the $600 offer and ultimately are not eligible for it or do not meet the conditions, you will not be able to request the $100 offer.
