Go to Canada, eat poutine
Poutine often comes up as the one and only Canadian specialty. In fact, it’s mostly an Eastern Canada treat, although you can probably find it all over the country.
It’s basically a dish of fries smothered in gravy and topped with cheese curds. Quebecers are serious about poutine—pvtistes members in Montreal recommend La Banquise. A number of events feature poutine, including La Poutine Week in Montreal or the Ottawa Poutine Fest.
