Good morning,
Overall, I am very satisfied with your service. The procedures are simple and very clear. On the other hand, I am really unfortunate that the costs of screening for STIs and sexual diseases are not covered. These costs are often reimbursed by health insurance in France, and they are relatively expensive here in Canada. Sexual health is very important to me, especially as I am part of a population at risk, so I find it a shame to limit this type of expense. Otherwise nothing to say!

I was reimbursed for dental expenses twice and everything went well. You just have to be careful to keep your plane ticket to prove that you are going to the country where you are supposed to do your PVT. Small flat, the dental expenses are limited to 300€ per year, a little limit for care in Canada where one can easily end up with a bill of several hundred $. Otherwise what is good is that we can be reimbursed in € or in $.

I had advanced medical expenses in a clinic and a hospital in Montreal, I did not encounter any difficulties in getting reimbursed, it took between three weeks and a month to be transferred to my account.

Lots of work to do but efficient and responsive customer service

What would you change in the refund process?
More clarity on the documents to have for reimbursement from the start of the purchase of insurance (not everyone keeps their plane ticket so if you don’t have it it can be boring)

I’m only at the beginning of my PVT adventure, but I traveled 3 months in Canada beforehand.
Before this trip, I was able to exchange with ACS to find out how to allow the validity of the PVT globe insurance when I activate my PVT without departing from France (one of the contractual conditions normally).
They confirmed to me that they could take out a first globe partner contract for the first 3 months, transformed into a PVT globe once I activated this one.
Following an injury during sports exercise, I needed to consult a dermatologist. ACS was able to reassure me and accompany me with reimbursement of advance care. The care form requested by ACS is easily completed by doctors in Montreal.

In the end for ACS currently it is:
– Very fast and pleasant exchanges
– Flexibility to adapt to the specificities of each
– Reimbursement with simple procedures (provided that all the documents requested are sent, it is therefore important to have the list in mind to avoid unpleasant surprises: ACS treatment form completed by the doctor / doctor’s consultation report / invoice /proof of payment)
– A processing time of 3-4 weeks and possibly more for reimbursement depending on the documents sent.

Globe PVT is worth its price. It is not the best service, because there is not enough information on how to get reimbursed. I went to see the doctor two months ago and after making my reimbursement request, they asked me for additional documents, which made me waste time in reimbursement. Why not ask us to list in advance the papers to ask the doctor when we are there, rather than asking when requesting reimbursement?
In addition, the refund is falsely full. I paid $200 for my consultation and was reimbursed $193 because they converted it into Euros and then converted back into CAD to reimburse me. When I use April’s insurance (which is certainly more expensive) the reimbursement is made very quickly and equal to the amount spent.

So not the worst experience, but I wish I had known that in advance.

I’ll try to answer for clarity:

It is quite complete.
You will also find in the conditions of the Globe PVT contract, downloadable in this same insurance tab, the detailed procedure for requesting reimbursement.
You will also find, on the Globe PVT product page, still in the “insurance” tab just above, a “reimbursement” tab: https://www.acs-ami.com/fr/part/pvtistes/globe- pvt/?part=pvtists
Not to mention our regular presence on the forum to answer questions, doubts, etc.
I think that’s a lot of info on how to go about making a refund request 🙂
– request for additional information: the detailed procedure clearly explains what is needed to make a complete request and in particular that the doctor indicates the diagnosis during the consultation.
– The exchange rate: difference of 7 CAD: Transfers to foreign accounts are sometimes subject to bank charges and/or variations linked to changing exchange rates.
For our part, we take charge of the bank sending costs (transfer issuing costs which are therefore not charged to you) but we have no view on what your bank could charge you (or not) when receiving a transfer from abroad.

I hope these answers give you more understanding of how a refund request process works.
