A very affordable mutual, currently in Canada I had to go to the emergency room, after a few days I received a bill of $769 to pay following my visit to the emergency room.
I sent all the documents to Globe PVT insurance. After 15 days, I was reimbursed for all the costs incurred. Superb insurance with very good follow-up. Thank you ?

Very simple to take out the insurance, the procedure and the receipt of your insurance card as well as all the documents is very fast and the price is lower compared to all the Canadian insurances for which I had inquired. Only downside is that you have to pay the full amount for the duration of your visa in 1 to 4 instalments, I would have preferred to be debited every month
But no regrets! I recommend

Cc everyone, super insurance my father-in-law died 5 days ago and on D-Day my husband’s case was taken care of very quickly (we took globe partner) he left the same day. I strongly advise expatriates to take out insurance because peace of mind is guaranteed. A huge THANK YOU to Mathieus for assisting me from the beginning and ensuring that they reach us until the end. To summarize an angel.

Hello to you,

My sincere condolences for your father-in-law.

Thank you for your testimony that I will pass on to our team and thank you to Mathieu for making the link.
Your testimony is all the more important because, as you say, it gives peace of mind to be assured, especially in these difficult times.

Good luck to you in this difficult ordeal.

Sandra

Always efficient and quick in their responses, they were very attentive and present when we needed them during a trip (excluding WHV, with classic travel insurance) with my boyfriend to whom I had also advised them. In everyday life during my WHV in New Zealand, I never had the slightest problem to be reimbursed for my care and expenses. The partnership with the WHV allows you to have a great rate (I continued to take this insurance afterwards but the rates excluding PVT are still higher).

What would you change in the refund process?
Perhaps the online platform should however be improved a little because it does not accept files that are too large and if we take too long the session expires and we have to start all over … There should be a way to save your request until validation maybe? In the end, I preferred to use the classic method of sending documents by email to avoid these inconveniences, but it worked very well by email.

They ask for too many supporting documents for reimbursement. Including an original invoice, which is very difficult to obtain in Canada, and a detailed medical report, something that the doctors here do not seem to know what it is given their eyes that they have all done to me, as well as a request which is long and a report which takes a long time to arrive (and which may pay off if too many pages). I find that the invoice should be sufficient because the examinations made are detailed there and there is proof of payment

Do not reimburse the exact amount of the invoice because they have exchange fees to pay and the rate varies. Yes, but when I called to ask if there was a difference between local currency and euros (because we have a choice), I was told no. I also ask if I will be reimbursed the exact amount of my invoice, I am told yes, which obviously was not the case. I asked to be reimbursed in local currency. When I got an email telling me that I will be refunded X euros, that’s when I realized there was going to be a problem. Obviously, the conversion was less than the amount of the invoice paid. Then when I complain I am told to refer to sections of my contract. Unfortunately, this is not mentioned in the contract. In short, more than $ 100 lost.

Hello Benjamin,

I read your message and I’m sorry for your disappointment ☹

Our medical service does not ask for too much supporting documentation, but just what is needed to consider a reimbursement request.
This makes it possible to decide whether or not it is refundable, taking into account the conditions of the insurance contract.
Sometimes a single detailed invoice is enough to rule because it includes all the necessary information.
Other times, even if an invoice is itemized by act, it is not sufficient or meaningful to be able to adjudicate.
For example, do these acts relate to a medical problem excluded by the insurance contract or is everything reimbursable?
Only a full account or other evidence can tell. This is the reason why it is necessary to obtain additional information.

I can assure you (for working there) that our medical service is not asking for more information without reason.
Especially since it creates management since the file must be put on hold and this is not pleasant for the insured ☹
The ideal being to receive a complete file from the start, the management is only more efficient and super fast and the insured is always satisfied.
And that, frankly, is super important to us!

After that, it is true that in Canada the deadlines for obtaining documents (original invoices if the reimbursement is> 500 €, or medical report) are quite long (between 2 and 4 weeks on average).
This is why it is better to wait until you have received the entire file before sending it in full.

As for the payment, I confirm that our reimbursements of medical expenses on the Globe PVT contract (excluding packages) are 100% of the actual costs.
For example, if you pay a 100 CAD consultation, you will be reimbursed 100 CAD and it is this equivalent amount in euros (conversion date corresponding to the date of payment of the invoice) that leaves us.
Afterwards, there may be exchange rate stories that could impact the amount received.
In addition, some Canadian banks do not take any fees on transfers received from abroad, others charge a% depending on the amount received, but this is independent of us and generally minimal.
Do not hesitate to come back to our Medical Department if you need more information: [email protected]

Here, my message is a bit long but it was important that I explain things well, hoping that it is clearer and not too off-putting?

I wish you a good week.
Sandra

Globe WHV allowed us to carry out our WHV with peace of mind. Medical costs are high in Canada. Having insurance that is 100% supported with prompt reimbursement is a real luxury.

My PVT experience was unfortunately shortened … the health situation made me return to France earlier than expected, therefore, I was not really able to make use of Globe PVT insurance … However, Insurance repayment terms are quite simple and quick.
