Un petit ajout :
TORONTO — Central Canadians woke up Thursday to an unbearable stifling heat dome, which has enveloped cities from Windsor, Ont., to Montreal, raising with it mercury levels and air conditioning usage to record-highs.
Environment Canada has predicted that temperatures in Windsor would hit a staggering 39 C in the shade — making it the hottest city in the country. The last record in Windsor was set in 1988 when people sweated through a sultry 40.2 C.
Meanwhile, Canada's largest city, Toronto, was expected to come in at one degree lower, at 38 C, but still will feel like a hot, sticky 49 degrees with the humidex by midday.
If the mercury reaches this high, it would be the hottest day Toronto has seen in more than six decades.
