Hello there I'm at the end of my first year visa and I want to apply for my second year visa. The thing is:
- my visa expires on the 16th of november
- I want to be back on the 28th december this year to Melbourne
- I'm leaving Australia on the 12th of november

Do you think I should apply when I get back to Paris?
Or should I apply while I'm still in Australia? I heard someone saying that when you apply on the territory you have to stay on the territory... But other people saying the opposite. Please help! Thanks

Vu que tu dis revenir à Paris, je suppose que tu es française, donc je vais tenter la réponse en français.

Pour le second Working Holiday visa de l'Australie, la règle est la suivante :
- Si tu fais ta demande alors que tu es encore en Australie, tu dois obligatoirement être en Australie au moment où ton visa est accepté.
- Si tu fais ta demande depuis l'extérieur de l'Australie (ex : en France), tu dois obligatoirement être en dehors de l'Australie au moment où ton visa est accepté.

C'est indiqué ici : Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) (au début de la partie About this visa).

Si tu as déjà un vol pour quitter l'Australie le 12 novembre, je te recommanderais d'attendre d'être revenue en France ou au moins d'avoir quitté l'Australie pour présenter ta demande de visa. Par contre, ne tarde pas, une fois rentré, à faire ta demande pour qu'elle soit traitée suffisamment rapidement.

Et dans l'absolu, je te recommanderais aussi d'attendre la confirmation de ton second visa avant d'acheter ton billet d'avion (ou sinon, prendre un vol que tu pourrais éventuellement décaler sans trop de frais) pour ne pas te retrouver bloquée le 28 décembre si tu n'as toujours pas obtenu ton visa pour l'Australie.
