Si vous êtes déjà au Canada en tant que visiteur, vous pouvez présenter une demande de permis d’études* :
On pourrait vous demander de vous présenter à ce bureau pour une entrevue. Si une entrevue est nécessaire, vous devez vous assurer que vous avez tous les documents requis pour entrer dans ce pays.
Il est de votre responsabilité de vérifier :
- Si vous avez besoin de remplir des formulaires supplémentaires ou de fournir des documents justificatifs supplémentaires, et
- Comment vous devez faire le paiement. Si vous envoyez votre demande par la poste, veuillez noter que les bureaux des visas/centres de réception des demandes de visas n’acceptent pas les reçus des banques du Canada.

Vous devez maintenir un statut légal au Canada pendant que votre demande est en cours.

Los Angeles (Exception: Citizens of Bermuda seeking a Study Permit are required to submit their applications to the Visa Application Centre in

Please keep a copy of this payment and send the copy along with all the documents when submitting the application. Add a note to let us know the service that you are requesting please provide a clear mailing address and phone number inside the United States of America where you want to receive your result package.

Find out if you need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a visitor visa. If you need a visa and you are applying for a Study Permit you do not need to submit a separate application. You will have to submit the passport.
There are two ways to submit an application for a Temporary Resident Visa; you may either submit all the required documentation:
- In person at the VAC or
- By mail to the VAC using a courier service
Please note that if your citizenship requires to do Biometrics you cannot mail your application to our office, you will need to come in person to have the Biometrics collected at the same time that you are submitting your application. Please go to

The Visa Application Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We do not provide appointments for application submissions, you may submit anytime during our hours of operation.
Please submit your application with sufficient time in advance, preferably 3 months prior to your departure date.
NOTE: If the immigration officer requires additional documents, medical exams, biometrics, an interview, background or security checks, documents that need to be verified or any other factor, the processing time may be longer.

Emergency processing will only be considered when an unexpected event occurs where the traveling date could not be planned in advance, such as illness or death of a family member. Attach any documents that support your travel emergency. While all will be done to process the application as soon as possible, there is no guarantee that the visa will be issued in time.
Note: That requesting a visa without enough time previous to a travel date is not considered an extraordinary circumstance.
