-Why New Zealand? New Zealand was a small country with a various places to stay and visite. It was also an english speaking country (and I wanted to practice my english there).
-How did you get your visa (explain the different steps)? I made an application online through the New Zealand immigration website. I had to answer few questions like my passport number, my current occupation and stuff like thise. At the end, I had to pays the visa fees. It was pretty easy.
-What was the hardest thing during your stay there? The hardest thing was maybe with my car (a van). We had few mechanical problems during our stay, we lost money in it and had trouble to sell it at the very end of our trip
-What did you like the most about New Zealand? The scenery and the possibility to just drive a few hours to see some other places completely different.
-How did you get a job and what did you do? I ouind a job as a "runner" in a restaurant after three weeks of intensive (but not so effective) job hunting. I found another position as a waitress in one of the other restaurant of the company to get the equivalent of a full time position (the first job was only part time).
-Would you like to go abroad again, if so where? Yes of course, I plan to arrive in Hong Kong in few weeks with a working holiday visa.
- Any advice? Be prepared and get few informations through different sources before you arrive in New Zealand. If your English is not so good, don't hesitate to get some english courses before your departure or just after your arrival. An intermediate knowledge of english is quite important to get a job in New Zealand. Otherwise, you can practice your English while volunteering in New Zealand, using networks like WWOOF or HelpX in order to keep your savings.
