Discussion: [VAN] The best viewpoints on the downtown
- 19/02/11, 19:55 #1Hey guys!
I'd like to take a good picture of the downtown with the mountains in the background. Do you know where are the best viewpoints?
Here is the kind of picture I wanna get (I wasn't high enough):
Any help would be welcome

(I could add some other places, but i'm too lazy to write it in english)
- 20/02/11, 04:59 #3I just googled it and the view looks interesting! Thanks!
Which observatory are you talking about? The H. R. MacMillan Space Centre?
What a lazy-ass! You live in Vancouver, so you have to speak English

- 20/02/11, 07:10 #6To give you an idea, here's the viewpoint from the Queen Elisabeth Park (in summer, with Rogers Arena-formerly known as GM Place's old roof)
The roof of Mountain Equipment Co-op on Broadway is not bad either
And a friend of mine told me that Portside Park at Crab Park (East Van) isn't bad either. You're at sea level but you can see downtown and its landmarks (Canada Place, Harbour Centre), Stanley Park, the Lions Gate bridge and the North Shore mountains.
You can't go wrong with Lonsdale Quay in North Van either.
And of course, the skyride going up to Grouse Mountain!
There are so many, the best is just to carry a camera with you all the time
- 20/02/11, 07:33 #7If you have a car, you can also go to Cypress mountain. Half way to the top, you'll find a view point which is quite awesome, but you won't have the mountains.
Otherwise, a few blocks west of Alma on 8th (towards UBC), you have a good view of downtown and mountains.
