The Rockies don't always deserve ALL the attention. In the David Thompson corridor, HI Nordegg is a favourite four-season spot for climbers, hikers and outdoor adventure seekers who want a quieter outdoor paradise, about halfway between Edmonton and Calgary and an hour from Banff National Park.

Reporting to the Hostel Manager the hostel staff lives on-site and responsible for delivering the complete hostel experience in accordance with Hostelling International policies, procedures and mission.

HI Nordegg operates 7 days each week. The schedule is one week one followed by one week off.

What you will do:

HI Nordegg is a small hostel – you will spend your time in direct service delivery.

Provide support in multiple areas including Front Desk and Housekeeping

Check guests in and out, offer them your expert advice and, like any good host, make sure their stay is enjoyable.

Ensure that the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the Hostel are kept up to standards.

Ensure a safe and secure environment for overnight guests.

Help a not-for-profit organization that embraces sustainable tourism and make travel accessible to all.


What we look for

An understanding of all aspects of customer service

Experience with Housekeeping and Maintenance is an asset to ensure the upkeep of this small hostel.

Ability to remain composed during high-pressure situations.

Strong organizational and communication skills

Previous Hostelling experience and/or experience in tourism, service, or hospitality industry

Comfortable working alone

Access to personal vehicle for transportation to and from the hostel
