My passport expires in sept 2025 and I have a vacation planned for July 2024. I haven’t booked an appointment for the VFS office yet but I heard that
1) They keep your passport until the visa application is successful
2) The passport needs to be valid for 6 months after my return date

What would be the best way to proceed with the scheduling of my passport renewal & VFS appointment for knowing that I have a trip booked in a few months?

Hi edarth. To respond to your questions,
1) Yes this is true. Because the WHV will be a sticker that they put in your passport.
2) France requires 3 months validity beyond your working holiday, for your WHV application.
I would personally recommend that your renew your passport before applying for your WHV. Whether you do that before or after your July vacation is up to you and passport processing times, which is beyond our expertise.
