A couple of questions about registering as a micro-entrepreneur.

Hello!
I'm in the process of my PVT (my appointment is on the 17th) for France. Assuming it is accepted (fingers crossed!), I'll be moving end of January.

I'm a freelancer and have been for 10+ years. Primarily I sell vintage and antique jewelry on ebay, but my understanding is that I'm not likely to be able to do that as I wouldn't get approval from Chambre du Commerce et de l'Industrie.

I'm also a freelance sports photographer, and that's a big part of why I chose France. I want to gain experience and ideally get some freelance income going, with the goal of applying for a freelance visa after my PVT. As this is liberal profession, I have a better chance, correct?
And, if that fails and I only sell photos through my website (registered in/taxes paid in Canada) rather than taking contracts, is that something I could still do?

When writing my letter of intention, I plan to say that my main plan is to live primarily off my savings (around $17k) to travel to sporting events and learn French. Should I mention the photography?

Extra bonus question: does it better my chance of approval to have the return flight ticket, or is letter of intent enough? Edit: scratch that. I just noticed that a plane ticket can only be booked up to a year ahead.

I am so glad this resource exists. Thank you!!

Hello, since 2023, all business registration applications, whether for liberal activities or commercial activities, must go through the INPI rather than the Chamber of Commerce.

You can try registering both activities and see whether the INPI accepts your application with a Working Holiday Visa. If your application is rejected, it won't affect the rest of your experience in France.

You can mention photography in your cover letter. I don't think it will be a problem, as you could also work as an employed photographer.

As for the return flight ticket, you can either provide a changeable ticket (booked for a date less than a year from the date of purchase) or prove that you have enough money to buy one (which is your case if you have $17k in savings).
