We're in a democracy, people may dislike Vancouver. (but then they mysteriously disappear).

I understand why people might not like Vancouver, but it's always better to try to convince people who have never hearded about a city to take a shot and visit it than only staying in Montreal because they don'y know the other provinces of Canada. What I'm saying about Vancouver is also true for Calgary, Toronto or Edmonton, Winnipeg, Whitehorse....

I'm trying to make people more curious about this amazing country.

But Vancouver is THE place to be, indeed.

it is, but not more expensive than Paris, definitely. Housing and car insurance are the biggest issues.

Car insurance is more expensive than in France, by far. But this is not crucial for pvtistes (unless they want to stay of course).

Housing is not as expensive as in Paris, but remains expensive. But when you leave downtown you can easily find a roo or an appartment. 500 to 600 CAD per person is an average good amount.
